“ son , you need this too.”

“ young man , you have a prescription for something heavy.” “ your mother needs this, but it’s not easy to carry.”

“ doctor , why would you say that?”

“ because your mother has been searching for something in the mountains .” 医生的目光变得深邃起来,“ she wants to find a cure for her disease before winter comes.”

“ so you found it?”

“ this is not an easy prescription, son.”

“ let’s go , mother .”

“ no, son, you have to stay with me.”

“ I’m getting old, doctor. Maybe… maybe it’s time for me to leave.”

“ i’ll let you stay for now .”

但他没有再多问, simply thank him and went back to the drug shop.

The young man sat at the corner of the drug shop, holding the mother’s prescription tightly in his hands. His heart was full of a mix of emotions—fear, hope, and confusion. He could feel the weight of responsibility pressing down on him every moment.

As he worked on the mother’s prescription, he couldn’t help but notice how different her mood had become since she left. She used to be so energetic andFull of life, but now… there was something missing in her.

She would often talk about the mountains, about the old stories passed down through generations. Her eyes sparkled with memories when she spoke of them. But now, whenever he tried to touch those subjects, a strange sense of unease settled over him.

He also noticed that she didn’t seem to be herself. There was something different in her demeanor, almost as if she had been touched by some unseen force.

But the most striking thing was what happened when he looked into her eyes for too long. There was a certain… emptiness… that seemed to linger even after they had said their goodbyes.

That night, as he stood at the drug shop, staring at the prescription in his hands, he couldn’t help but wonder what had happened between him and his mother over these past few days. And worse than that, he couldn’t shake off the feeling that something was not quite right—something bigger and darker was lurking somewhere out there.

And just then, a shadow passed by, and it made him stop cold. There was a man standing in the shadows, his eyes glinting with an insatiable hunger for knowledge.

The young man knew he had to act quickly if he wanted to understand what was going on. He must find that man and confront him—he had no time to waste.

But as he turned around to leave, he couldn’t help but feel a strange sense of… oddness. There was something wrong with the air around him—a tension that he couldn’t quite place.

The drug shop seemed empty now—no customers, no familiar sights, just darkness and the faint sound of breathing somewhere in the distance.

His heart raced as he made his way towards the village square. The further he went, the more unsettling things became—the streets grew longer than they should have been, and the shadows seemed to move with an unnatural speediness.

At last, he reached the edge of the village and paused, listening for any sound that might indicate where that man was hiding. But nothing was there—a lone figure in the distance, but no—there must be someone else…

Wait a minute… There were two of them.

The young man’s heart leaped into his throat as he saw another figure approaching from behind. Together, they moved towards him with a purpose.

But what was that purpose?

As they drew closer, they both stopped and faced each other in a silent exchange of greetings—or rather, warnings.

Their eyes met for the first time in days, and there was no mistake—their expressions spoke volumes.

The young man backed away slowly, knowing that whatever was coming for him was not going to be easy. But at least now he had an idea of what he was up against—if only he could understand it before it overwhelmed him…
